Увольнение Нагельсмана не мешает Баварии взять требл в текущем сезоне уже при новом тренере, хотя на Фрайбурге клуб из Мюнхена иногда ошибается. Коллектив Штрайха перед паузой на матчи сборных противостоял Ювентусу в 1/8 финала Лиги Европы, проиграв итальянскому гранду с общим счетом 0:3. Скорее всего, Фрайбургу просто-напросто не хватило опыта в еврокубках, так как команда последнее время не так часто шла в топ-6 Бундеслиги.
