ЛАСК в предыдущем сезоне в чемпионате Австрии сумел занять третье место, и тем самым заполучил путевку в Лигу Европы.

При этом команда на текущем турнире стартовала с раунда плей-офф квалификации, где не без труда прошла «Зриньски Мостар» из Боснии и Герцеговины. Одолев соперника на домашнем поле (2:1), на выезде коллектив ему уступал (0:1), но после перерыва у гостей ответный мяч провел Бранко Йовичич.

Ливерпуль

«Ливерпуль» прошлый сезон провел не лучшим образом. Команда в чемпионате заняла только пятое место, отстав от четвертой строчки на четыре балла, да и в Лиге чемпионов клуб выступил неважно, вылетев на стадии 1/8 финала, дважды проиграв мадридскому «Реалу».

В этом сезоне мерсисайдцы в товарищеских встречах добились трех викторий, а также по разу расходились миром и уступали.

При этом в Премьер-лиге коллектив Юргена Клоппа в первых турах показывает неплохие результаты, и находится в верхней части таблицы.

ЛАСК – Ливерпуль: австрийский клуб без борьбы проиграть не должен

В последние годы клубам между собой проводить очных матчей не доводилось.
