Локомотив ужасно вошел в 2022 год, тогда как СКА с идеальными результатами в январе решился на тренерскую перестановку. Ротенберг поменял на должности главкома Брагина, который теперь ему ассистирует. Об этой рокировке можно будет судить только по прошествии времени, пока же «армейцы» чересчур стабильны и готовы завоевать первую строчку на Западе.

Перемены на тренерском мостике коснулись Локомотива еще на старте регулярного чемпионата. В конце сентября «железнодорожников» покинул белорусский специалист Скабелка, с которым коллектив из Ярославля отлично поработал в прошлой кампании. Его заменил Никитин, с которым Локомотив, мягко говоря, не блещет и вряд ли поднимется выше 6 места.

Неплохие результаты на дальневосточном выезде не позволили «красно-синим» дальше прогрессировать. В последних четырех встречах Локомотив потерпел четыре поражения, лишь одно из которых дало дополнительный балл. Если неудачи с московским Динамо, Трактором и Металлургом объясняются высоким уровнем противников, то проигрыш от Спартака – осечка с конкурентом.
