В пятницу в очном противостоянии сойдутся соперники с разными целями и задачами на концовку регулярного чемпионата. «Локо» устойчиво держится в топ-3 Запада и, скорее всего, с этой позиции никуда не уйдет. Локомотив все так же уверенно обладает лучшей обороной КХЛ, причем долгое время травмирован Охтамаа – финский защитник, которому тренерский штаб доверяет большую часть построений.

У южан все плачевнее. Несмотря на приличный рывок с 28 ноября, где у «тигров» было четыре победы, они все равно находятся вдалеке от крупных действий нокаут-раунда. Сочи пропускают чуть меньше полных аутсайдеров, рижского Динамо, но и сами забрасывают совсем немного. Не хватает креатива, идей и надежной защиты. С такими систематическими ошибками сражаться за плей-офф нереально.
