В отличие от Оренбурга, который завершил тренировочные сборы без поражений в спаррингах, Урал потерпел две неудачи. Коллектив Шалимова уступил Уфе и Крыльям Советов в товарищеских матчах, причем общий счет тех баталий (1:7) вряд ли дарит оптимизма перед стартом сезона.

По приобретенным футболистам Урал никого не впечатляет, хотя десант вернувшихся из аренды может удивить. При Шалимове, который спас команду из Екатеринбурга от вылета, сохранится мощный низкий блок на контратаках.

Последний раз Оренбург и Урал пересекались в очных битвах 2 года назад. Тогда еще коллектив Федотова одолел соперников на выезде (2:1), а июльская ответная встреча не состоялась – Оренбургу было засчитано техническое поражение (0:3).
