За неделю до старта Премьер-лиги вернувшийся в чемпионат Шеффилд Юнайтед лишился своего лучшего бомбардира, тогда как Кристал Пэлас расстался со своей главной звездой месяцем ранее. Речь идет об Илимане Ндиайе и Уилфриде Заа – оба игрока покинули клубы АПЛ в желании поиграть в еврокубках, направившись в Марсель и Галатасарай.

На возвращение в элитный английский дивизион у Шеффилд Юнайтед ушло два сезона. В минувшей кампании команда Хекингботтома практически не покидала топ-3 Чемпионшипа весь сезон, поэтому коллектив со спокойствием миновал раунд плей-офф.
