После выигрышей в первом туре Япония и Испания остались без побед во втором выступлении на ЧМ. Один из лучших перфомансов от претендентов на титул выдала как раз сборная из Пиренейского полуострова. Испания шокировала Коста-Рику атакующим наплывом каждой из линий, а против Германии доминировала большую часть встречи.
